Sir Charles Hobhouse

Ambassador for Wiltshire

Charles Hobhouse isn’t much of a horseman, although he did ride a bullock for a few seconds in the Mataranka Rodeo in the Northern Territory of Australia. However he has seen at first hand, both by observing the great work of the Armed Forces Equine Charity and other Charities who do similar work that handling and being with animals, particularly horses, really does assist people, young and old, with mental health issues. He was therefore, delighted and honoured to be asked to become an Ambassador.

After several years travelling in Africa, South America and Australia he settled down to run his family’s wildlife friendly farm near Bradford-on-Avon, where he lives with his wife and two young sons. He’s a long term supporter of Bath Rugby and Somerset County Cricket and enjoys watching tennis, golf and football as well. He has managed to climb a few mountains and has been to both Poles.

He is also involved with some other Wiltshire Charities, including Alabare and the Wiltshire Community Foundation and he is a Patron of the Friends of Erlestoke Prison.
